Life in Singapore: The Past 100 Years – Level 2:

𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘆: 1920s and 1930s. Discover how affluent Straits-born and migrant Chinese fought to express their modern identities and the challenges they faced in working out their roles.

𝗔 𝗩𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴: Voyage through the Malay Archipelago with drawings from William Farquhar Collection.

🌳 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁
An immersive installation that transforms 69 drawings from the William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings into three-dimensional animations.

Transforming the Landscape between 1960s to 1980s. Greening was part of urban planning. Do you remember the campaign “Keep Singapore Clean”?

Surviving Syonan (1942-1945) - The different types of shoes worn by women reflected their evolving identities in Singapore during the early 20th century.

Modern Colony (1925-1935) - Showcases the cosmopolitan nature of Singapore as a British Crown colony in the 1920s and 1930s.

Remembering the Jurong Drive-In Cinema? Have a feel of one of the Asia’s largest drive-ins at that time.

Story of the Forest: This installation presents Singapore’s colonial past in contrast to its present-day modernity.
