Exploring Clementi Forest

Start Point: Bus stop 12109 - opposite Ngee Ann Poly.

For those driving, you could park at the end point (Sunset Way - Blk 104 Clementi Street 14). Take bus number 52, 61, 74, 154 or 184. Alight at the 3rd bus stop opposite the road at Ngee Ann Poly and cross the overhead bridge to get here.

The closest MRT is King Albert Park Station (15-minute walk away). Alternatively, you can take Bus number 74, 151 or 154 and alight at this bus stop (3 bus stops away).

The canal behind the bus stop is the entry point into the forest.

Pick the left path for an easier hike!

Check the weather forecast before you enter - the whole hike takes 2+ hours (90 min if you're fast)

The area is not regulated by the NParks. Do explore with care!

The trail will lead you to this water crossing

Cross it with care!

Continue with the trail. There are several Y intersections along the trail, take the left!

You will emerge on a path (almost like "back to civilization") - turn right on the road and walk until you reach a stretch of green rusty railings on the left hand side that protects hikers from falling into a canal.

Cross over when you reach this short stretch of green rusty railings and do a U-turn downslope into the water canal.

Watch for the water velocity especially after a heavy downpour!

Landmark tree as you make your way downslope

Head left when you reach the water and soon you will get to this beautiful bricked arch!

Get your Instagram-worthy shots among the red metal beams

All smiles!

Watch out for the slippery muddy egress as you exit the red metal beams area!

Uphill slope after exploring the red metal beams - go down on all fours to avoid humpty dumpty

You will see this majestic tree at the top!

Follow the trail and enjoy the sights along the way.

Fallen logs strewn along the trail, makes for a good stretch!

You will come to a railway track. You can follow the track at the start but it will get muddier.

When that happens, look left and you see a parallel path that is slightly elevated!

Look out for fallen branches!

Metal beams sticking out from yesteryears - signs of a bustling railway in the past

An extraordinary place to sit and soak in the sounds of the "forest"

Be prepared for muddy shoes. No running from it - embrace the brown stuff!

Marvel at the beautiful works of nature along the way

Don't give up now - this is the tunnel under Maju Camp (and you can climb up to exit if you're feeling exhausted). There is a bus stop above!

Light at the end of the tunnel. Go through the tunnel

Can you spot the little Bean under the root?

Just keep walking - and you will see that you emerge amidst towering HDB flats, a juxtaposition from the greenery behind you

A clearing that marks the end of the route

This is where you could park before embarking on the bus (to the start of the trail) - and this is where it ends!
